ABOUT US
Welcome to MyJewelleryWardrobe. My name is Alice Portnoy and I am a designer/maker of handmade contemporary jewellery working in Sterling Silver and semi precious stones. I have made all the pieces featured on this site.
I started my jewellery studies after retiring from my career in marketing. I’ve always loved working with my hands; sewing clothes for my children and taking many years of ceramics classes. Jewellery has given me another creative outlet and an exciting new career.
My jewellery reflects my love of textures and geometric shapes. I use fabric and other materials to texture silver, combine circles and ovals with rivets to create movement and add curves and folds for greater depth.
Flexibility is also important to me when designing a piece. Pendants can be supplied with long or short chains or slide on a collar, some can also be worn as brooches.
I am a member of ACJ (Association of Contemporary Jewellery) and The CraftMaker Association and frequently exhibit at their Hampstead Fairs. My jewellery has been exhibited at the Victoria and Albert Museum as part of their ‘Inspired By’ competition.
To keep track of my activities please follow me on Instagram.
All the jewellery is made to order and commissions are always welcome. For any additional information reach out via the Contact page or email me at alice@myjewellerywardrobe.co.uk
